Directed a History Channel Series about women and choose to rely on physical objects. Worked closely with a producer, art director, production designer, and DP to build scenes for each moment in the script. Wanted to create a coloful and punchy palette to celebrate these historic figures and moments in a contemporary light.

Through several design iterations, the team built physical sets as “canvasses” to display and composite digital information onto. These “canvasses” consisted of blank TV’s, Books, Photo Albums, Photo Frames, Shelves, Desks and were re-designed to fit into the aesthetic.

In addition to these sets, curated objects were used to represent historical facts and women. The objects were altered to fit the overall aesthetic conforming color, font, and images.

After shooting the Set, Props, and Hosts, a whimsical digital video environment was created by incorporating experimental animation as transitional elements. In post, animated archival photos, written dates, names, and facts to the video footage brought the objects to life.
